A Family Portrait (Attempted)...

The other day when I was taking photos of the girls, I tried to get one of them all together.  Why I persist in trying this I don't know, because it always goes pear shaped.

This is the best shot I got...

It didn't take long for things to start getting a little untidy...

Not long after that the craziness set in...

And then the sibling strangulation...

How do family photos turn out at your house?  If you've got some good ones I need to know how you do it!!

Edited to add the link for Special Exposure Wednesday.

I think you know my comment on this one. You've seen ours, right?

I think it's all about getting someone other than Mum to take the pic as don;t most kids listen to others and not their mums?! ;)

I don't think we've gotten the perfect family picture since having kids. But the less than perfect ones are the best. They are so real!

Yeah I agree with Bron, definately another person to take them for you, they actually listen!

It takes lots and lots and lots of patience to get a decent pic of Noah and then sometimes I still don't have a good one. I can't imagine trying to get multiple kids to cooperate at once!

I think the first one is pretty sweet though!!

I really love the first one!
It is so hard to get good pictures. I take lots and lots of pictures. I love digital so I can take 100 shots just to get one amazing shot.

About a million shots, and Photoshop. Actually I like the crazy ones best, just make a collage of your favorites! I think what you got is cute!

Oh well, candid ones show their personalities best anyway. : ) -- the "perfect" ones are our happy accidents!

All the shots are great, they are beautiful.

Pretty much like yours! That's why we have ours in the multi-photo frames ;-)

I think your photos are fabulous -- they capture their personalities, not perfection. And they are such cuties!

I think these are better than perfectly posed photos - they tell a story. These are wonderful and will be great to look back at 20 years from now.

I think those pictures are great! Perfect, candid representation of who they are! Love 'em! :-)

My photos turn out much the same and I only have 2 kids! I can't get them to both sit still, look at the camera at the same time, and give me a nice smile. Is that too much to ask?! LOL

Yup, I can't do it either. I think I'm going to start doing them separately and then frame them side by side. Save us all a headache. On the bright side- your candid pics of the "real" girls are much better than posed ones.

We have a canvas on our wall with our three younger boys. My photos turn out just like yours, but this one was taken by someone else. Only one out of three is looking at the camera, but the picture takes my breath away. It accurately shows each of their personality. The intensity of Master C, the cheekiness of Scrappy, and the whole body laughter that Moo has when he cracks up.

I think you just let them be themselves and keep snapping in the hope that you get that shot :-)
