It's time

It's time for this gorgeous girl to start gearing up for her next big fight.

Yesterday we saw the kidney specialist to talk about her rising creatinine levels.

It's time to start the work up for Ashlea's kidney transplant.  Her GFR is now 13, pushing her from Chronic Renal Failure (stage 4 CKD)  into the territory of End Stage Renal Failure (stage 5 CKD).

I'll be back later in the week with more details.  In the meantime, click here to see more gorgeous children fighting their own big fights in Special Exposure Wednesday.

Aww, crap! Sorry to hear that. Hoped Ashlea would be one of the few that ‘get away with it’. Now I'll switch my hoping to a swift and uncomplicated transplant and recovery instead.

That Ashlea is going to have some great stories to tell all her old-biddy mates when she's an old biddy herself.

Alison, so thinking of you right now. That's a lot to digest. I hope that what needs to be done gets done with as little stress and drama and delay as possible.
Ashlea is one tough cookie and I am sure she'll tackle this newest challenge with the same determination that she takes on everything.
Love to you.
