July 4: Fifteen!

It's hard to see in this picture but clutched in Ashlea's fingers is a cheese and bacon ball - one of fifteen she ate today!  FIFTEEN!!  All actually eaten.  Completely gone eaten.  She is now able to put a whole cheese and bacon ball in her mouth, chomp/suck it and swallow (with some coaxing). At first I thought the other kids had been 'helping' her by eating her cheese and bacon balls - so today I counted them out and watched how many she ate only to be utterly amazed that it was all her!  What an achievement!

(And for those of you wondering why on earth I would choose cheese and bacon balls as a first food it is because they have lots of flavour and dissolve on their own in your mouth - meaning that even if you can't chew well you can suck them into oblivion.  Trust me - this is a speech therapist approved first food!).
