Thankful Thursday 1st August

This week I am thankful for:

- a fun family outing to see the Sydney Swans.  As many of you know family outings can be a little tricky for us with Ashlea, Emma's anxiety and Murray's brain injury.  This one was a great little win for our family - even Emma had fun in spite of having to be dragged kicking and screaming into the car to go;

Free Lunch!

The Big Swan Duck!

Don't worry - it wasn't all smooth sailing...

- Ashlea's improved coping ability.  Even though she did lose it when the game started she calmed down after 5 or 10 minutes;

- Kidney Health Australia for organising the family day out;

- seeing Ashlea and her kidney friends all thriving post-transplant;

- our faithful old van - and for it's show of consideration by dying gracefully in the driveway rather than while I was out and about with the kids in it;

- clean spa water;

Tip for spa owners - if you have a power outage don't forget to turn your
spa back on...otherwise the water will turn an interesting shade of green

- random duck sightings;

I made flat bread to go with our dinner and one turned out to be a duck...

- getting to gate crash another church's women's event and eat scones with jam and cream while listening to encouraging women of God;

- being able to attend school open day;

- yummy lunch with school mum's for a friend's birthday;

- Thursday night shopping.

Also - we are doing the Big Red Walk this year to raise awareness for kidney disease.  If you would like to sponsor us here is the link.  Please feel no obligation to donate - but seeing as when you register you automatically get a fundraising page I thought it couldn't hurt to share the link:

Thankful Thursday

I am so glad you had a great outing. Football wouldn't be at the top of my list so you're a braver woman than I, but glad it went well. And love the duck flatbread. Aren't you clever? :-) x Di
