Thankfulness Day 30: Christmas - Alfred Hitchcock Style

Today we put up our Christmas tree.  Emma loves birds and it seems they are very popular as Christmas ornaments this year so I went a little crazy and bought some lots.  Our tree may look a little like something from Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds...just with more glitter.

He sees you while you're sleeping...

Today I am thanking God for:

- the fun that is putting up the Christmas tree with the kids;

- Christmas carols to sing to while doing it;

- the reminder that Christmas is all about Jesus;

- the great gift of eternal life that is ours because of the first Christmas (and Easter);

- a quiet weekend;

- dessert tonight with yet more awesome mums;

- the continuing power of Pokemon;

She's like putty in my hands if Pokemon cards are on offer

- the discipline of thankfulness.  In reality I have so much to be thankful for - sometimes for whatever reason though I can't see it.  I have found it enormously helpful to deliberately choose to see the good;

- although truth be told I am a little thankful that I don't have to think of a list tomorrow;

- and a big thank you to those of you who have joined me for 30 Days of Thankfulness.  It has been wonderful reading all your thank yous too!

Who knew the power of Pokémon could deliver us such a lovely picture? Makes me think of Charles Dickens (a modern little Oliver enduring the domestic cruelty that is dish drying).

"Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds...just with more glitter." Love it.

Everything and anything is exciting when seen through the eyes of our children :) Mine are loving birds at the moment, there are so many darting through the garden. The cockies have made their summer appearance and noise known the last week :)

Day 30 WOW! Today I am thankful for: The last family birthday party for Josh and a husband to organise the 12 children at Parramatta pool; the end to the work Christmas party that involved champagne, cocktails and finger food while ten pin bowling in the city (interesting, fun and certainly something I would not normally do with 20 18 to 68 year olds at lunch time); the last 10 year old party for Mel and the last comment in 30 Days of thankfulness. Julie C Thanks Al for the challenge, it has been more worthwhile than I could have imagined and your blogs are so inspiring.Enjoy December and all the Christmas joy.

Loved reading all that you are thankful for these last 30 days xx the power of Pokemon is similar to that of yugioh cards! Love!
